RE: Out of the fire into the frying pan

The recent forest fire in the Sedona area is finally coming to an end. It ended up being about 20K acres. Luckily, I don’t believe anyone was seriously injured.

So the mornings are pretty clear again, which means we can finally open the windows. And it’s a good thing too, because just yesterday, as the smoke was clearing, our air conditioning system broke. Just up and quit.

My office has air, but the main house is currently doing its impression of a pizza oven… minus the pizza.

This was the day after the repair guy was here to do routine maintenance. Yes, it’s quite a maintenance program they have. 🙂

And so we’re here, hot, in the desert, not so patiently waiting for repairs to come in the next day or so.

It brings to mind this quote by Jiddu Krishnamurti:

“This is my secret. I don’t mind what happens.”

Now if I were a tad more “enlightened,” I guess I could just truly have zero emotional attachment to the outside world. Getting the big client or letting him slip away would basically register identically in my emotional system.

Unfortunately, I’m still a bit of a work in progress, so that’s not totally the reality yet.

In the meantime, I’m forced to build a client attraction system that provides the “detachment” for me. That’s why I put my eggs in the Platform basket.

I run the Platform, the prospects and clients do what they choose to do. Instant detachment!

If you’re not doing this, you’re missing out on a pretty nice feeling of freedom. It sure beats the old days where every prospect and client created a new and not so fun emotional roller coaster and drama.

Now I just watch. I watch what does happen. I watch what doesn’t happen. You learn a lot by doing that.

If you want to shortcut the learning curve and learn to do this yourself, you’ll find instructions in Client Mastery. And the Platform stuff is only one of the many modules in there. Get the details here.
