I talk a lot about how important it is in the client game to not care what other people think of you.
It’s really quite an easy concept to wrap your head around.
For the head, it’s simple, but “not caring what others think” can’t do much good for you as a thought alone.
The head isn’t really the guiding force of your life. I know a lot of books say it is, but I just don’t believe them because that’s not my experience. The guiding force is something deeper.
The head just takes that “something deeper” and either focuses it or screws with it.
So here’s a question…
What does it actually FEEL like to not care at all what anyone thinks of you?
Do you know? If not, how do you find out?
When you don’t know who you are, you care what others think of you. When you’re confident in your understanding of who you are, the opinions of others are irrelevant.
So the “trick” is to be OK with who you are. (Often easier said than done.)
When you have that understanding and are OK with it, then you are WHOLE. And that’s really a very beautiful thing.
Why does this matter?
Because when you go into a client negotiation and YOU ARE WHOLE, it means that you don’t need anything from anyone.
And that makes all the difference in the world. Because “not needing” is extremely attractive.
“Not needing” will attract the clients…
“Not needing” will bring the money…
“Not needing” is the answer.
But you’ve got to FEEL it.
Thinking it is a start, but it isn’t enough. Not enough to transform your life that is.
See you next time,
