There’s Never a Line at the Truth Store

I sometimes chuckle at how unpopular the truth actually is.

It makes most sheeple really uncomfortable when you bring it up. They just kind of look away and pretend they don’t know you. And that’s fine.

But if you want to stick out, consider figuring out what your truth is in relation to your clients and be willing to talk about it.

Most people won’t. Most people are too busy learning the ropes about how to manipulate people to have time for truth.

Take this one, for example:

You don’t have to wade too far into the world of copywriting to come across the phrase, “It’s Not Your Fault…” in sales copy all over the place.

This is a pretty weak attempt at removing responsibility from the mind of your reader in an effort to make them do what you want. When you actually explain it in print, it even feels slimier than when you do it.

“You were taken advantage of…”

“They did this to you…”

“You were screwed!”

Eek… I actually wrote some of this garbage in the past. That’s before I started to wake up. We all make mistakes. I still do! Go ahead and keep going down that path if you want, but you won’t find me there unless I’m having a relapse.

And listen up, do you REALLY want the type of client that this approach would prompt to take action? I sure don’t.

So why are we talking about this today?

Because if you want to attract great clients, then one way to do it is to be willing to say the things you KNOW are true that others aren’t willing to say.

You will stick out in a major way.

Oh, there probably won’t be a crowd standing around your “truth store” though. At this point in time, there’s rarely a crowd around the truth store… but you’ll get the right people coming out of the wood work to find you.

So the next time you are asking yourself, “How do I attract better clients?” start looking in the direction of something REAL that you could say that would improve your prospect’s clarity about whether to take a step TOWARDS you or AWAY from you.

If you have the guts to do this, you might actually get everything you’ve been seeking.

And in that case, it WILL all be your “fault.”
