The reason I find the platform model of client attraction so valuable is because it allows you to develop a rhythm in your work. Now maybe my past as a musician makes this more important to me than most, I don’t really know. What I do know is that I’m a very rhythmic person.
For me, rhythm provides structure. Rhythm provides boundaries. Rhythm LIMITS choice, which is a good thing when most of us have an endless number of opportunities staring us in the face.
Wouldn’t you know it, this is a very important concept in the client attraction business.
RHYTHM is powerful. A sound vibrating at the right frequency (which you could think of as the “RHYTHM” of the sound wave) can shatter glass. And rhythm can have the same effect in your business.
In this case, I’m talking about the rhythm of action.
Habits are nothing more than actions in rhythm.
The platform is a habit. It is a series of actions performed in a certain rhythm. This is why it works.
Rhythm also keeps you from waking up every day asking yourself what you’re doing. That’s a great question, but if you ask it EVERYDAY, you never get anywhere.
Once you commit to publishing a media platform of some variety, those minutes or hours every week are OFF the table. They are committed and are therefore not available to another activity.
You don’t have to invest energy for those minutes wondering what you should be doing.
Take a look at the results you’re getting in your business. Then take a look at your “rhythm.” Take a close look at the rhythm of your actions and what that looks like over a month or so.
