The Dethroning of Content as King

Content is king…

Copy is king…

Just about anybody can say they’re king, but that doesn’t make it so.

I don’t think copy OR content sits atop the mountain of the gods.

Instead, I’m pretty sure demonstration is perched upon the throne. So I’ll happily dub demonstration as king. And “content” is the horse and carriage in which demonstration rides around.

The fact is, there’s a lot of “content” out there that could put you to sleep if you waded too far into it. If that’s the type of content you produce, now’s the time to make a change.

Teaching people about what you do is particularly boring. If they wanted to learn, they’d probably do it themselves.

They want the result. Which is why SHOWING them what you do is better.

When you’re looking to create content, I’d recommend you stop thinking about “content.” Start thinking about demonstration.

Are you demonstrating? You can scale your demonstration, of course. That’s what the platform does.

Figure out how to demonstrate what you do. Then package it up and send it out.

As I wrote in the latest issue of the Incomparable Expert Field Report, “People don’t want to BE magicians, they want to watch magic tricks being done. Think about whether or not you’re doing that.”

Demonstration sells.
