A few years ago, I got invited to speak about copywriting at a mastermind meeting hosted by Bedros Keuilian and Craig Ballantyne.
I’m going to focus on Bedros here because I had already known and worked with Craig. Bedros stuck out to me for two reasons:
- First, it was clear very soon after meeting that he approached business from a service perspective. In other words, he has a deep admiration and respect for the clients and customers he serves. The operative word there is SERVES.
- Second, he had disciplined himself to become a Master of the 5%.
What that means is that he made a decision to limit himself to primarily doing the work in his business that used his highest and most valuable skills. He would do the things that he did best.
Now it’s one thing to TALK about doing this. It’s another thing to actually do this.
If you commit to a path like this and say, “I’m going to focus my time on doing that thing in my business that leverages my unique abilities,” you either have to…
- Get others to help with the rest of the stuff.
- Or be OK with things NOT getting done.
- Or simply do much LESS.
Bedros was gracious enough to sit down with me and record a short interview where we focused on his 5% rule and several other business building principles.
If you’re looking for focus and more progress with less effort, take a listen.
