I’m working hard to get less productive and more effective. It’s not easy.
Everyone out there is trained to scream, “Push harder, do more, the clock’s a tickin’…”
This is a trap if you don’t already know it. And the meme spreads, like an infection, because it’s wrapped in this shiny package where the idea of VALUE has been somehow connected to this word “production.”
Production is used in a way that degrades the human being into some quasi machine.
Machines produce, humans create.
There’s a big difference.
Machines CAN’T create. And humans, when focused on “PRODUCING,” do so at their own peril.
It’s obvious that we’re not machines, we don’t work like machines and aspiring to be more like a machine is not smart.
Maximizing your productivity sounds like a direct path to misery.
There’s more to life. There’s more to business. There’s more to being human.
But you have to take a stand.
You simply have to refuse to play. You have to choose another game.
How about a game YOU want to play?
There’s no “working your way to the top,” because there IS no top. That’s a story too.
It’s all been made up.
And we believed it.
