Did you ever stop to think that your clients need you more than you need them?
That’s not really the way we tend to think about things is it?
Why not? Lots of reasons. But the facts don’t really add up if you start looking at them.
To go out into the world thinking you need clients puts you at a distinct disadvantage right from the beginning.
With that feeling of “need,” you can’t be yourself. Your real self doesn’t need anything.
Think about it…
Clients are the ones with the needs. They have unmet needs that represent real obstacles to their progress.
You fill that need.
Do you need them, or do they need you?
You are the worker. Not the slave, the worker. That means, without you, their work doesn’t get done.
Without you, they can’t build…
Without you, they can’t create…
Without you, they can’t reach their goals.
Think about it.
Who do you think brings the value to the table?
They bring the money, but you bring the reason their money has value.
Having this knowledge can create an entirely new perspective on what it means to work with clients.
It is about serving them from a position of power.
Service is not an act of weakness. Service is a conscious way to focus your power and do great things.
