So this media platform thing I stumbled onto years ago, prompted by my angry and bitter self who was dealing (immaturely) with a good client gone bad, seems to be working out OK!
But there’s a secret you should know about before you go down this path.
The secret is that you get more from it than anyone else.
And what you get is a “signal” that becomes clearer over time. You won’t make the cover of a business magazine with this accomplishment, but you might actually transform the world. Or even more exciting… the life of a single human being.
We work really hard to develop sales skills and marketing skills and copywriting skills as a bandaid for the real problem: the absence of a clear signal.
When you give up pursuing bandaids and start working on the real problem, you can make some serious progress in your ability to spread ideas and help people.
When you think about creating your “U.S.P.,” for example, your brain is thinking in words, but that’s just the overlay to a vibration.
We live in a world of vibration. It’s sound, it’s resonance. Clear signals create differently than distorted ones.
This explains why sending a CLEAR signal out into the world with your marketing is a smart thing to do.
The less distortion, the better.
But most of us have decades of distortion to wade through.
I guess you could just sit in a chair and work through this on the inside, but it’s far easier to commit to a consistent broadcast of a signal.
This kind of reminds me of when my daughter asked me how to become a better writer. I didn’t buy her a copywriting course so she could fill her head with other people’s ideas. I gave a better answer. I said, “write.”
How do you get clarity?
Broadcast a signal and pay attention.
Broadcasting a clear signal isn’t an event, it is a process much like crafting a vase (that’s never done!) on the wheel of a potter.
