The Holy Grail Wasn’t Supposed to Be Easy to Find

There are three parts to your client attraction system.

The first part is your platform. If you don’t have one, create one. Half a day reading back issues of this letter is enough to get you started.

The second part is your set of “decision points” that lead from your platform to various levels of interaction with you and your business. These are what meet interested prospects who raise their hand and identify themselves as people who want to take a step closer to what you offer. The Monday Mastermind is one of mine.

Finally, there’s the part that feeds the platform. This is your lead generation. Maybe you use Facebook®, or Adwords, or article syndication, or direct mail or something else. Doesn’t really matter.

What does matter is that you develop a consistent way to grow your universe of prospects. Without that, you run into problems.

To be clear, you need all three parts to make the system work.

If you have to start with ONE, start with the platform. Just do it already.

Then move onto the decision points, which are part of your conversion process from prospect to client.

Once you get a system that looks like it has promise, then you start feeding it with leads.

You’ll save a bunch of money and wasted potential if you do it in this order.

Generating leads is LAST. Why? First of all, the thinking required to do steps 1 and 2 will give you a lot more clarity when it comes to lead generation. Second, lead generation is often the hardest part, by far.

If you take a look around internet land, you won’t see too much specific help with how to generate leads for your specific business.

One week, people will be preaching about silver bullet X. The next week, it’ll be silver bullet Y. And it just goes on.

The reason you don’t find a “paint by numbers” lead generation system is because no one has one!

No one knows what will work for you. Figuring it out is your job. Figuring it out is what separates the amateurs from the pros.

If you can figure out the LEADS part, you can do a lot of things.

So don’t get discouraged if it takes you a while. It’s important, it’s hard and it’s extremely valuable.

The Holy Grail wasn’t supposed to be EASY to find, but the destination was supposed to be well worth the effort.

This is why I created the Rainmaker Letter. Because this is a marathon, not a sprint. If you want a sprint, you’re in the wrong business. The Rainmaker Letter shows up every month to keep you going, to give you insight and to show you other people who are DOING IT. If you’ve never tried it, take it for a test drive.
