Taking a Day Away

Yesterday, my wife spent the day at the Enchantment Resort here in town for a full day business building retreat. I’ll be hosting some private, one-on-one, mastermind meetings there in the coming months, but more about that another time.

That’s her right there in a picture from yesterday. If there ever was a place that helps the dreaming process, this would be it.

There’s a lot of great things that can happen when you withdraw from the daily routine, connect with like-minded individuals and set your mind on deliberate creation.

The challenge, of course, is to do this often enough.

No one will ever force you to do this. And frankly, the pull of “all of that work” that’s sitting right on your desk often makes it hard to “get away.”

But that’s all just a story we tell ourselves to stay small. It is easier to stay small.

Unfortunately, you pay a big price for that. You might not pay it all at once, but the amount is ultimately very high.

If you’re a little bit unclear about the direction you’re going, the solution isn’t to work harder. The solution is to stop working. You don’t find the solution in work. You find it away from work.

My wife returned from a 10 hour stretch of time as a different person. Not different actually, just more herself. Her real self. Just that short blip was long enough to tune into the work she is here to do.

Imagine what could happen for you?
