We all have problems. We all have challenges.

Luckily, a good majority of people out there can make it through most of them. They might not like it, but they push through.

But if you’re reading this, my hunch is that you’re not satisfied with being part of the “majority.”

So let’s talk about the minority of people who’ve developed a more valuable way of looking at problems. They’ve developed the habit to gratefully accept the challenges that come along in life and business.

The grateful part is actually quite simple when you realize that, within every problem big or small, there is enormous opportunity.

Today I want to highlight just one example.

You know that feeling you get when you’re working with a new client and you submit your work for the first time? I think I can best describe that feeling as some level of anxious dread.

Pictures go through your mind of getting an email or a call where your client says, “You’re awful. We hate it. We never want to hear from you again. You’re the worst person on the planet.”

Ok, so maybe I exaggerate (but not by much!). I’m sure you know the feeling.

I hated that feeling for a very long time. Until one day, when I realized what an enormous opportunity it was.

So how do you reject the drama of the “big reveal” with a new client and use that situation to your advantage?

Simple. Each time you submit work to a new client, you use that opportunity to make a deliberate choice. You can choose to freak out about what you don’t control, or you can choose to do something more productive with your energy.

You can’t control what anyone thinks of you or your work. So use these “big reveal” opportunities to practice training the new habit of not caring about things outside your control.

You can call it, LEARNED INDIFFERENCE.

Practice it. Master it. This is just one of the keys you already possess that opens the door to your own freedom. Use it.
