My Daughter’s Aerial Silks Class

That’s my daughter Amelia right there. She’s 12. This was a picture from last night at her aerial silks class. Basically, it’s a type of acrobatic art high up in the air.

Now if there’s one thing I KNOW I’m never going to do, it’s THIS. But she loves it. She goes twice a week. One class is conditioning, the other class (which you see in the picture) focuses on skills.

For now, this is what she does.

It took me quite some time to figure out what it is that “I DO.” I finally got there. It’s a nice place to be. It’s nice to know what I’m doing when I wake up, but it’s just as nice knowing which things to avoid.

It’s easier when you just commit to something. Especially when it comes to client attraction. And that’s the problem. How do you know what to “commit” to before you know what’s going to work?

Frankly, if you exist on the level of the “tactic,” who knows what is going to work from day to day. If you’re looking for answers on that level of things all the time, I think you’re looking in the wrong place.

Commit to a fundamental strategy. Ideally, one that’s been proven to work over and over again.

I’ve committed to the Platform strategy. I’m not saying that’s right for you, but I am saying it’s right for me. I know that is WHAT I DO when it comes to client attraction.

With the tactical approach to business, tactics wear out. They seem to have a limited shelf life. They work great at the beginning, and then degrade over time.

The strategic approach to client attraction using the Platform works exactly the opposite way. It really doesn’t “work” at the beginning when you’re just getting started. You just have to keep going and trust it’s going to work. But over time, it starts to gain momentum. The longer you do it, the better it gets.

The fact that it is slow going at the beginning is probably the biggest opportunity for anyone who is smart enough not to look for the “secret” quick road to success.

That’s what most people are looking for. And that means they will stay FAR away from anything that even remotely resembles methodical, disciplined work. But believe me, I’m hardly “disciplined,” and I can still manage this.

The Platform is WHAT I DO to build my business.

Do you know what it is that YOU DO?

If you want to choose the Platform route, this might be a valuable way to start the journey.
