Yesterday I had a short consultation with a tech engineer on the other side of the world.
During our call, he said something like, “I feel like I already know you…”
The first few times I heard that, it caught me off guard. I’m the LAST guy who cares about celebrity status or anything like that. But this IS how the platform model of client attraction works.
You might never see your name in lights, but you will become known to the RIGHT people. And that’s far more important to me.
Here’s the problem:
The simplest things seem to be the least interesting to our ego. It’s simple to build trust and credibility with people. Even people on the other side of the world.
You do it by making a commitment to become valuable on a consistent basis.
That’s the recipe.
“Oh that’s it? Wow. That sounds like it takes a little while.”
You bet it does.
How long does it take? In the case of this individual, he’s been a subscriber to the Daily Journal since 6/16/2015.
This is why the platform model of client attraction works so well. As with just about everything in life, you get what you pay for.
In this case, I’m paying for premium quality results. And I’m paying with time.
Not interested in paying the price to attract clients? Most people won’t be, which is why I am extremely confident in the long term viability of this route. Plus, my gut tells me you can never go wrong helping people.
I created the Platform Lab for people who want to pay the price. It’s not for everyone. It’s not even for most people. As with everything, the right people find it.
Yes, it walks you through the strategy behind getting your platform off the ground. I have to say, it’s a pretty streamlined process I’ve created.
The secondary benefit is that going through it forces you to do thinking about differentiating yourself that most business people never do.
