How to Be Unique

The quickest way to be unique is to stop comparing yourself to others.

School taught you to compare yourself to all of the other slaves and forced you to practice the habit for 12-20 years.

Once you got out of school’s clutches, then the media takes over.

  • This is why social media is a plague. It has nothing to do with being social and everything to do with controlling your emotional and mental states.
  • This is why access to endless information is a trap. That type of cerebral overload makes sure you’ll never have time for a single deep thought.
  • This is why most people are empty on the inside.

You can’t spend your days looking at what everyone else is doing AND THEN expect yourself to do something different. You’ve already messed with your mind’s ability to create from nothing when you do that. You’ve already given it material that will set the frame for its future creation.

You have to break the habit by installing a new one. The next time you’re tempted to see what everyone else is doing, go inward and sit with that feeling. When you get used to accessing that stillness, you’ll probably begin to notice that ideas come to you spontaneously without “thinking” your way to them.

Ask yourself if you really want to offer your consent to be bombarded with the content a big computer in the sky wants you to see so it can fulfill its prime directive? It would slowly like to wear away your uniqueness so you become far more predictable and controllable and “compliant.”

Is that what you want?

You have the power here.

If you really want to be unique, different and far more valuable to the world than your average bear, then you have to take the actions that create that result.

The good news is that most of the actions are not things to do, they’re things NOT to do.
