RE: Getting lost in the desert

Just got back from a two hour hike in the desert. It wasn’t supposed to be two hours, but it was.

My wife and I just started walking without really paying attention. Before we knew it, my wife looked up and realized this wasn’t the route she remembered. [No comment.]

And there it began…

Two hours later, we’re back. It doesn’t hurt to live in a town where the landmarks (mountains) are a few hundred feet high. That said, you still can walk around for quite some time if you take the wrong trail.

I walked around a long time on a “trail” like this in my business life.

I didn’t know where I was going but I sure was in a hurry to get there.

How did I ever figure my way through?

The exact same way we just got out of the desert forest: by taking one step at a time and not stopping.

This is why the Platform approach to building a service business works. It’s a simple model that is very effective. You don’t have to try to figure out how to “make it work,” or worry if some rule will change and cause it to stop working. No, that’s not what this is about.

Building a Platform is about creating an attractive force into your business. You create this force by being valuable (in the right way) first.

If you want to build your Platform yourself, here’s the system.

If you want help doing it, you can get that too.

And finally, if you just want someone to do it all for you, well that option is available as well.

The most powerful part of the Platform approach is that you never have to worry about what the next step is going to be. The answer is simple. You put another brick (piece of content) in your Platform.

Can you ever really be lost if you always know what the next step is?
