Sometimes it can feel like life or business is completely out of control.

I felt that feeling the other day and then I stopped and thought about it.

“Why does this happen?” I asked myself.

The answer came…

“You feel things are out of control because you didn’t exercise control. In the absence of that, someone else tried to exercise control. They were forced to become a backseat driver. This rarely works out well for you. Take control in all things, not because you are meant to control others but because you are responsible for your life and happiness.”

I didn’t interpret this to mean that I should be a control freak. That’s an awful burden to put on yourself and who wants to hang around somebody like that?

Instead, the challenge is to simply be conscious as often as possible and arrange events with your end goal in mind.

In other words, your power to create your world comes in part from your will. Without a will, you are aimless.

This is very important when you are working with clients.

If you do not take control, someone else will. And that is not the position you want to be in.

See you next time,
