The Desert of Arizona
Sunny 52 Degrees
I spent quite a few years wandering around in the barren wasteland of the “I want to be successful but I don’t know how!” mind loop.
I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I attempted many things. Some were marginally successful. None were homeruns.
The harder I tried to find the answer, the harder finding the answer became. I was chasing something, but I had no idea what!
Most of those times were flavored with my desire to get something and my lack of knowledge about HOW to get that something.
Thank goodness I made it out alive.
I’ve gotten a little bit wiser and now approach things quite differently. Almost from the complete opposite direction.
I kind of focus on the giving side of things and the getting side seems to take care of itself.
Is that fluffy? Maybe. Is it “New Age?” Guess it depends on what age you’re talking about.
I think this approach is pretty ancient actually.
I guess it’s not too alpha male of me to admit I just make sure I’m valuable to people and then develop ways for that to come back to me, but that’s the truth.
When in doubt, ask yourself:
How can I become more valuable to more people more often?
Now if I ever gave a seminar, it would probably last about 10 minutes. Well, I’d have to think of something to fill the other 9 minutes 30 seconds with because saying that one sentence would really not take a lot of time.
But some of the greatest advances I’ve had in my business life and life life have come from asking this question.
The funny part is, I RARELY had the answer after the asking of the question. It always came later–not as a flash of brilliance from the sky, more like an unfolding of a flower blossom. It was SLOW.
Not sure what your next step is? Not sure how to reach that goal you’ve set for yourself? Not sure how to get more clients, keep those clients, and have them send their friends?
Ask the question:
How can I become more valuable to more people more often?
That bright future you want is hiding in the answer.
