The Desert of Arizona
Going to Be Sunny & 66 Degrees
I’ve realized that there are two ways to interact with clients and customers in an effort to serve them.
The first way is the way I was taught as a child. I grew up in a fairly religious school/church situation. The way I was taught to serve was to bend down and help those in need.
In other words, I came down to the level of the person I was assisting. I identified with them, put myself in their shoes, empathized with their situation and then gave them assistance.
There are reasons for doing this, but I’ve discovered that there’s a far more POWERFUL way to help people.
That way is to inspire and empower them to raise themselves up to whatever level they want.
You can do this when you are attracting clients. You can either “lower the bar” and let the masses enter. Or you can “raise the bar” and work with those who are inspired to rise to the challenge.
The first approach helps people, but I don’t think it improves them.
The second approach offers assistance in a way where the person receiving is not only helped but also IMPROVED.
Despite my understanding of this, if I’m not careful, my tendency is still to bend down to assist.
Inspire up. That’s the way to do it. At least for me. It’s a path that energizes you and the person you are helping.
The Rainmaker Letter used to be offered as a digital newsletter at $99 per year. While this is an excellent “value,” it’s not an example of me inspiring UP. And so I changed it.
The bar is now much higher. My commitment to make it great is much higher. The New Rainmaker Letter is going to challenge me, and through it I’m going to challenge YOU. I’m going to challenge you to use it to transform your business.
