Tomorrow is the 7 Secrets of the Platform Spiral teleclass where I’ll be talking through just a few of the major things I’ve discovered over 5 years of running one of these systems. Time is running out to register.
Years ago, I did an experiment for about 90 days where I’d post a new article to my blog each and every day.
These were meaty things. Basically, I was talking about internet business and the life of an entrepreneur. There was no real theme. No specific problems being solved, not too many BIG IDEAS, just “content.”
I wrote a lot, and attracted a fair amount of eyeballs. Other than that, exactly nothing happened. Basically, the articles were eye candy while offering nothing real to stick around for.
That was my first attempt at a “media platform.”
I didn’t have to try too hard to figure out what to write about in my next media platform. The topic found me.
And after some crappy times with a few clients and one particularly hilarious conversation with a friend, I embarked on writing a daily email letter on my new website called ClientsSuck.net. It was angry, but it was consistent.
Eventually, that transitioned to the Art of Clients. Catchy, but completely unclear (way to go marketing genius!). But the writing continued.
Finally, we’ve arrived at Incomparable Expert and the Daily Journal which you’re reading right now.
This is what the evolution of clarity looks like. It’s a morphing ball of energy that is powered by a consistent investment of effort.
No great flashes from the sky, no life changing moments of inspiration. Just consistent work. It’s not painful, and no clients are hurt during the process.
What that means is that you have to have very little figured out to get this ball rolling. There’s no excuse NOT to start.
