You want success?
Is that the truth? Do you know what that means for you? Do you have the fortitude to be OK with the world not agreeing with what “success” means for you?
These are all questions I never asked myself early on. I was too focused on climbing the “success” mountain by trying to find the magic instruction book that would show me how.
How, how, how? Just tell me how to do it so I can be on my way!
We’re trained to fixate on the how. But that’s the least important part of the puzzle.
There is no definitive how. It only takes on the air of “definitive” AFTER you’ve done it.
And then other people see that and start chasing that how on their own. It’s a terrible trap we get ourselves into.
The truth is, the success I was experiencing early on (not much!) was directly connected to the capacity I had within to hold the energy of that success.
You don’t develop capacity from a book, or a workshop, or a week long retreat.
It takes time. It is slow. It is transformation from the inside out. And most of that time it doesn’t feel like much is happening. But one day, you look back and see the great progress stretched out behind you, reminding you of who you USED to be.
In my experience, this “success journey” is one best taken slowly. In fact, I think you cover the most ground when you take the smallest steps.
It’s totally counterintuitive, which is why I missed it for so long.
I was trying to “get there” rather than developing my capacity to BE there.
I’m starting a small group of people who want to take the baby steps, week in, week out. It’s for people who’ve already gotten over a few hurdles and have a business up and running.
It’s for people who want to align what they say they want with the actions that will create that desire.
