Today I want to share with you a little secret to becoming the most interesting person in the world.
You would think that to earn this type of status, you’d have to travel the world, or be well read, or maybe even be extremely good looking with irresistible charm. But that really has nothing to do with it.
What is required, however, is something very few people are willing to do. So few people, in fact, that if you manage to do it, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb.
So what is it?
Simple. Stop talking and thinking about you. Start talking and thinking about the person that’s speaking with you.
Ask questions. Listen to the answers. Ask more questions. Not “yes” or “no” questions, REAL questions.
Not questions like, “Do you like to surf?”
Questions like “What are your favorite things to do?”
See the difference?
One leads to real information, the other leads to a dead end.
Try it, people will actually enjoy being with you even though they might not know why.
You can talk with someone for 30 minutes without really even saying much about yourself. The weird part is that they walk away thinking, “there’s something interesting about that person…”
The funny thing is, becoming the most interesting person in the world comes with a fairly long list of positive benefits.
First, people seem to be attracted to you…
Second, people tend to feel understood by you…
Third, people tend to give you opportunities you wouldn’t otherwise have.
Eventually, this will become such a habit, it will seep into everything you do. Your marketing, your discussions with prospects and clients. Even your family and loved ones.
“Hmmmm… something’s different about you, they’ll say.” They’ll walk away from your conversation with a very nice feeling.
I guarantee you that you will get better clients, who pay you higher fees, who are actually enjoyable to work with IF you become a master at this.
Try it.
