RE: When you truly don’t care

I have a good quote for you today. Something that came in my field of vision over the weekend. I apologize in advance that I can’t properly attribute the quote to anyone. I don’t know where it originally came from.

I also apologize that I toned down the original and removed just a little bit of the “color.” I’d rather this email get through to you and not get blocked by some filter somewhere. So I’m willing to do my best to apease the email gods so they don’t get angry.

Know that the original quote had a much more powerful word in place of the (bleep!) I inserted 🙂

OK, here goes…

“When you truly don’t care what the (bleep!) anyone thinks of you, you have reached a dangerously awesome level of freedom.”

Perhaps this freedom is that much more attractive to me because of the years I spent living without it… in a world where I allowed the thoughts, actions and opinions of others to control me. I don’t know. My hunch is that this freedom is attractive to you, or you wouldn’t be a subscriber.

The question is, how do you get there?

How do you truly stop caring what anyone thinks of you?

Some people SAY they have this level of freedom, but their actions betray them. It’s clear that they aren’t free.

I’ve been one of those people at times. But that’s only because I’m not perfect (gasp…).

You may not have noticed, but in your business right now, there are opportunities to do this. They are small (or big) tests to see if you are ready. You get them all the time. Sometimes you pass right by them not understanding what a gift they are.

Other times you entertain them and sink back into your old ways.

But the times when you entertain them and win, you take one more step. And that’s the way to the freedom. It’s not in one big flash of brilliance that it happens. It happens over time. It’s one step at a time.

You see, not caring what others think about you isn’t a STATE of being, it’s a SKILL you develop. That means, anyone can do it.

You can do it.

Think about that pressure you’re feeling right now, TODAY, from that person in your life or business whose opinion matters more to you than your own truth.

There’s an opportunity for you to open the door to the freedom right there.

Are you going to take it?

P.S. There’s another type of freedom I discovered in addition to the one I talked about today. But this freedom is one that allows you to remove the frustrations you feel in your business and jump up to a higher track of mastery. The entire issue of the next Rainmaker Letter is all about this. Get onboard before it ships this week.
