I’ve never really been able to pinpoint where my well-developed ability to be lazy comes from.

It comes from somewhere. I know it does. Because I see it pop its ugly head up at least once a day.

I used to think that the way to deal with it was to work on me.

But that just seems to lead to this vicious cycle of improving for a while, then reverting back to my old self and starting all over. What a drag.

I’m not a robot or a super hero. I’m a human being. So “working on me” just didn’t seem to lead to permanent solutions.

The real me kept coming back.

That’s when I stumbled into something I now call “The Web of Success.”

I got caught in the web, and now I can’t get out. Best thing that ever happened to me.

I’ll tell you what this web is in just a second.

Before we get there, let’s focus in on what is probably the number one challenge for most service providers:

Attracting clients.

Everybody wants clients. More clients, better clients.

So let’s start with what we know.

Service providers who invest time in building and operating marketing systems designed to attract clients seem to get more clients than those who do nothing and just sit there waiting for the phone to ring.

And yet, a lot of service providers somehow can’t/won’t/don’t find the time to do the very thing that could most likely transform their business and start bringing the clients.

The whole “marketing thing” gets put last.

I get it.

Two ways to solve this:

Option 1: Summon up your willpower and just do the work.

Eek. This option sounds about as fun as sleeping on a bed of nails.

Option 2: Weave your own “Web of Success.”

The funny part is, the web isn’t for other people, it’s for you!

Take the Monday Hotsheet I publish. That’s part of my Web of Success.

Guess when that comes out? On Mondays!

And guess who looks stupid if it doesn’t?

And guess what happens on the 3rd Thursday of every month?

The Rainmaker Letter gets published.

Guess who gets the questions if that Thursday comes and goes without a new issue?

And guess who committed to thousands of people all over the world to supply a daily e-letter about working with clients?

So much for lazy! Lazy goes out the window or my ego suffers. And my ego is a fragile little thing, so motivation to protect it is always in great supply.

Do you see how this works?

The Web of Success is something you build to TRAP you into doing the work. No willpower required.

And the longer the web spinning goes, the stronger it gets. And the bigger and wider it becomes.

You know what starts to happen when you do things like this on a consistent basis? STUFF HAPPENS! Good stuff! That’s what.

It starts slowly at first. So slowly, in fact, you might not even notice.

But as your web gets bigger and stronger, the motion begins.

People start talking about you. They start responding. They start commenting on what you’re doing.

Before long, you’re one of those folks who’s got things to do, places to go, people to see.

Pretty soon, “lazy” becomes a wall flower and just sits by watching you get stuff done.

The sooner you start spinning your web, the better off you’ll be.
