I wrapped up another Platform Express client yesterday. During the four weeks we worked together, we aimed my client’s skills, experience and value directly at creating a specific result for a group of people who WANT that result.

When you’re starting a process like this, it can look confusing and overwhelming. You see a ton of opportunity out in the marketplace. But then you look at where you’re at and you wonder which of the paths before you is the smart one to take.

That’s why the whole process is pretty much an exercise in working backwards. You don’t start with YOU or what you do. You start with the WHO and create a trail of breadcrumbs back to where you’re at and to what you do.

When you do this work in reverse, you look up and see a very clear path directly to the people you want to attract. You designed it that way.

The real payoff for doing this work (it can be some hard thinking!) is CLARITY. You can SEE the trail to take to get where you want to go. And that ability to see makes it much easier to decide to do THIS and not do THAT on any given day.

When you wake up KNOWING what you’re about and what type of value you provide (and for whom), and how to articulate that clearly to the marketplace, it makes moving forward much more straightforward.
