The Secret to Growing a Company to $100 million and Beyond

A Partner Program client just launched his new project yesterday.

His name is Greg Head and his business is Scaling Point.

In his 30 year career, he’s done some pretty amazing things:

  • He was an early employee at ACT!, the best selling Windows contact manager in the ’90s, used by 4 million salespeople.
  • He was a co-founder of SalesLogix, the first mid-market CRM software, which went public in 1999 and was bought by Sage plc (LON: SGE) in 2001 for $300 million.
  • He served as CMO at Infusionsoft where he saw growth soar from $15 million to $100 million.

Greg has a skill that allows him to spot the way to fuel MASSIVE growth in a company. This isn’t 2X or 3X growth, we’re talking 5X, 10X and beyond levels of growth.

How can this happen? It can happen when a company discovers what Greg calls the Scaling Point. That’s the key lever in the business that can jumpstart major growth. Most companies can’t see it. Greg can.

As we all know, having a skill is not enough to make it. Even if it’s a “Jedi magic trick” level skill (like Greg’s is) that produces consistently “off the chart” results, it’s ONE piece of the puzzle.

Communicating the skill, its value and unique qualities, to the right people…and building the systems that reach out to those people and allow the right ones to identify themselves to you…that’s the other part of the recipe.

But once you put all of that together, amazing things can happen. And when the entire system is built on a powerful BIG IDEA like Scaling Point, it’s a beautiful thing to witness it all work.

With Greg’s Scaling Point Framework and the programs he’s created, he’s ready to completely transform the lives and companies of a select set of Founders and CEOs.

In this Daily Journal, I focus a lot on positioning, on marketing, on systems that build attraction to you and what you do.

But none of that matters if the RESULT isn’t there. You must do the work to create a result that others can’t/won’t/don’t create.

Once that’s in place, then the signal you send out gets received like the rare and valuable treasure it truly is. People SEE what you do. And that makes all the difference.

How do you create BIG results? You aim your skills at BIG problems.

My work with Greg in the Partner Program was to help “package up” everything he is able to do and deliver a clear message to the people for whom he will do it.

From there, I worked along side the rest of his talented team to dream and create the systems and processes to help run his enterprise.

I’m pretty darn grateful to be able to spend my days doing this type of stuff. Is it work, is it play? I don’t know. I erased the line between the two.
