Ever try REALLY HARD to get clear on something?
Clarity isn’t something you struggle for, it’s something you relax into.
And clarity has its own timeline. It comes when it’s ready.
I’ve never really found a way to take an arrow and shoot it right into the heart of some clarity on demand.
Instead, I’ve had to reverse engineer the process. I’ve had to develop a way to dance around all of the answers until they become so obvious to me they hit me right in the face.
A punch in the face is clear!
I’m really not a guy with a lot of answers for people right away. In fact, when I first start working with someone, all I have are questions.
And then, after we get through those questions, I follow that up with… more questions!
The model I’ve developed and refined that uses “strategery” to connect what you do well with people out in the world who want that thing done begins with a commitment to help others first.
For anyone looking for a silver bullet solution to success, my approach puts me way past three strikes. But this “help people first” thing is just too much for those folks.
Even so, here’s the recipe I use to reverse engineer clarity:
- Find a problem you can solve.
- Find a group of people who have that problem.
- Develop a way (a media platform) to help those people without demanding anything in return.
- Pay attention.
Once these steps are done, you will start seeing clues leading to the clarity for which you are searching.
Clarity can come in bolts of lightening, but it’s hard to know when those will strike. And the more you want it to happen, the less it seems to happen.
It’s much more empowering to build the system that brings the clarity back in waves.
