No Excuses
Spread the Word – Friends Don’t Let Friends Work With Bad Clients

I’m very good at making excuses for myself.
In fact, I’ve developed and finely honed the ability to rationalize just about any of my lazy behaviors in a few eloquent and logical sentences.
I relied on that ability for years to minimize conflict and make my way through life. And it’s quite successful with just about everyone.
Everyone except my wife, that is.
I’m fortunate enough to be sharing my life with a being born with a built in detector for B.S. of all kinds.
My excuses fall into her “B.S.” category.
I’ll spare you the stories (because they make me look dumber than I actually am 🙂 and instead focus on the point of today’s message:
If you want to reach the success you know you are capable of achieving, then you have to get rid of the excuses.
The most deadly aren’t the ones you make to others, but the ones you make to yourself.
Those include all the reasons why you shouldn’t, wouldn’t, couldn’t, can’t, didn’t, or won’t do the things that are going to move you forward towards your goals.
The simplest way to kill the excuses is to stare them in the face and recognize them for what they are:
Excuses are fear.
Give in to them and they will keep you small forever.
“Do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
