Moving Your Front Door

I remember one of my early copywriting projects back in 2006 came from a simple lead generation campaign I was running on Google.

I think I paid about $1.95 for that lead through pay-per-click. My $1.95 investment turned into maybe $6K in revenue. $1.95 in exchange for $6K.

A pretty good return, really. That’s not counting the NEXT client I got introduced to because of that first client. That next one sent upwards of $25K of revenue my way.

Back then, coming off the world of the church musician where my first “great” salary was in the low $30K range, this new direction showed major promise.

Sadly, there are countless experts out there all dressed up with no one to lead. The problem? No LEADS.

I don’t really care how you answer the lead problem. My point in highlighting this is that generating leads IS the biggest problem to be solved.

The platform model of client attraction is PROOF that “if you build it, they actually do come…” but that doesn’t mean you just sit there.

You have to take who you are, what you do, and how you do it and place that RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of wherever people are already at.

You either do that, or you just sit there and wait for folks to find you.

But this is not an empowered way to move through life.

More accurately, “just waiting around” is a great way to completely erode your belief in you. All of your skill, knowledge and talent won’t matter to that little voice in your head as it keeps reminding you that NO ONE IS COMING through your front door.

The solution is to take your “front door” to where your future customers and clients are already hanging out. Make the door inviting. Build the door so it offers a clear and compelling promise of benefit. And then make sure that door is unlocked and slightly open…just waiting for someone to walk through.

That’s YOUR job. And it’s quite a job.

I’m helping a few people through this to create a customized lead generation system. You can get the details here.

You may or may not be interested in doing this type of work. But really, you need a solution. You don’t need MY solution. But do yourself a favor and get a solution SOME where to keep the leads flowing.

There are tons of people out there you COULD be helping. As of this moment, however, they have no idea you exist.

How will you change that?
