Flagged Down By a Buddhist Monk

If you didn’t know it, I live in Sedona Arizona. It’s a couple hours north of Phoenix. That’s our little town right there in the picture…

A lot of unique things happen here in Sedona, the vortex capital of the world. You can attribute it to the energetic thing that’s going on here, or you could just call us all weird (we’ve been called worse). There are probably about 10,000 people that live here year round. But every year, we deal with 4-5 million tourists.

I was out walking my dog Tucker a few months ago and got flagged down by a neighbor of ours. He reached his head out the window and said to come around the passenger’s side of the car.

Once I did, he introduced me to a Buddhist monk who had just arrived in town. Someone who had been anointed/ordained/marked (I forget the word he used) by the Dalai Lama at the age of 20. So there I am in the middle of the road shaking hands with a Buddhist monk.

Luckily, my dog was not his normal Tucker self. For a moment, he forgot that he enjoys lunging at cars and otherwise going crazy when he meets people. He was well behaved and just waited.

My point is the monk. The monk did something that reminded me of the goto move you need to make when you’re doing the client attraction thing. And it’s the same move that serves as the cornerstone of stimulating demand for you.

He made himself known, he asked for nothing…

That’s the same action a PLATFORM repeats over and over again. It makes you known, it asks for nothing (or very little). Think of it like a ballon. The balloon is the container that holds the demand for you. Air represents demand. If you put a full breath into the ballon (stimulating demand) but then suck it right out (get a client), you’ve got a flat balloon.

Instead of doing that, you create the system that perpetually blows air into the balloon. This is the value you create and send out into the world in a leveraged fashion (your PLATFORM). This is a real asset.

Eventually, that balloon gets so filled with “air” that when you take your mouth away from the opening, the force trying to expel that air is extremely great.

This is exactly how you want it. This is the pull of clients TOWARDS you.

Be like the monk…
