The Desert of Arizona
Before Sunrise 35 Degrees
On Sunday night, I found myself in a very special situation.
There I was, kneeling on the floor in my home, about to catch my daughter. Just me, my wife, a friend and the kids. She was born at 9:30 PM… and she is beautiful.
There she is to the right. Her first name is Ever. Her middle name is Wild.
To be the observer in a situation like that is an awesome privilege.
Birth and death are really two sides of a razor thin coin. And when you truly “get” that, you feel the sacredness of an event like this.
If you can truly be the observer, what you see and feel is a power without equal. It is limitless, beyond our current ability to know.
You don’t need much understanding to have it transform you though. You simply have to experience it. But for that to happen, you have to give up trying to “control” things and understand that you are on a ride powered by something much bigger than us all.
Oddly enough, this is the same approach I’ve (finally) understood is appropriate in business. Not according to the system, just according to my experience.
I didn’t do this when I started. When I started, I did everything in my power to manipulate things to create the outcomes I wanted.
It took me a long time to realize that there’s a force in this universe that has much better ideas for outcomes than I do.
So instead of trying to manipulate things with my small thinking, I simply provide the raw ingredients to the universe and observe what happens.
This is where the idea of the Platform comes into play. I supply the ingredients. And I watch the cake get baked before my eyes.
Much like life, this path only requires three things: faith, patience and work.
You just start and don’t stop. The true value that comes from a practice like this are the lessons you learn along the way.
Lessons you never would have noticed if you were busy trying to manipulate the world to do your bidding.
Focusing on the “raw ingredients” of your future success keeps your mind on the only thing you truly control. And that is what you are doing and thinking right now.
