How do you attract clients without needing them?
The answer, in my experience, is part art, part science.
I think it’s an art to find the balance to allow you to attract clients while at the same time, making it clear that you don’t need them.
It requires you getting very clear on the inside about how that could actually be a truth.
I read about this strategy years ago and did a major hack job of trying to put it into practice for a while.
My biggest mistake was that I thought it was a strategy for the mind rather than a way of BEING.
At the time, I simply didn’t have the internal fortitude to do this the right way-with the right approach.
So Mr. Jason, the nice guy, put on a mask that just made him look like a jerk. I went a little bit overboard in the “I don’t need you and I want you to know that” department.
Of course it didn’t “work.” But it was another step forward (?) towards the truth I would eventually discover.
Eventually, I woke up and realized that I had to find a way forward that worked for me. Not what someone told me should work for me, what actually WOULD work for me.
That meant I had to make a change.
I didn’t know it at the time but I had to start on the inside and work towards the outside.
I had to give up the guilt, the shame, the giving of my power to anyone who wanted it. I had to stop submitting to the control of another simply because they were “successful” or in charge.
In other words, I had to destroy the Matrix I had come to believe was reality.
I finally found the path to that goal.
And these days, I take each day of life as my opportunity to destroy the “Matrix” everywhere I find it in my world.
Now if you haven’t seen any of the Matrix movies, go catch up… if you have seen them, then you know what I’m saying.
There’s no violence required to destroy this thing. All it takes is confident and deliberate action in accordance with your own authority.
The news headlines lately are enough proof that this Matrix is breaking down.
We’ve all got our own version of the Matrix in the client business too. It’s not real. It’s simply the product of our thinking or the thinking of another that we’ve accepted as fact.
When you make a decision to step out of that, you realize the world is a creation. And you can influence that creation.
This is true when you’re trying to attract clients.
There’s no PERFECT way to do it. There’s YOUR way to do it. And when you can get out of thinking that you have to follow the rules and instead focus on achieving your objectives, everything opens up.
Your thoughts, skills and common sense work towards creating a way to create a desired outcome. That’s when the blinders come off and you can start to SEE things most people don’t.
That’s something I’m going to cover in this month’s issue of The Rainmaker Letter.
How to attract while not being needy.
Yes, I’ll mention things from an energetic point of view, but I’m going to concentrate on how you actually build something that does this. What does a system like this look like?
How do you communicate a lack of need in a systematized way?
