Can’t We Go Faster?

Most of the world is obsessed with doing things. Gotta get it done. That’s how everyone has been taught to measure progress.

In fact, we’ve been trained to equate value with getting things done. That’s all well and good except a lot of time can get wasted with that sort of equation. Oh it’s “efficient,” just not as effective as it could be.

Why?

Because there’s a big difference between getting stuff done and doing the right things.

When you’re doing the right things, you end up having to DO far less.

Not long ago I create the Incomparable Expert Partner Program. It’s how I work with select clients who want things “built.”

But we do things slowly and in a methodical, deliberate way. That means measuring 12 times and cutting once.

It means thinking for 9 days, and building for 1 day.

Can’t it go faster?

Of course, if you just want to get it DONE. But DONE isn’t the target… effective is the target.

Take a look at your business. Are you caught up in the getting things done mode or have you developed the ability to do the right things?

That IS a skill to develop. And in my experience, the most important ingredient in developing it is to allow SPACE. If your mind is crammed with plans for incessant doing, you miss seeing a LOT. You have to restrain yourself from doing just because you CAN.

DOING will keep you busy, but there’s no guarantee it gets you anywhere. And is being busy really why you are in business?
