So what the h*ll is a Platform?
If you’ve had that question bumping around in your brain, today we’re going to clear it up.
But let’s talk about it in the context of the only thing you care about:
Attracting clients, keeping clients, increasing your fees, decreasing your work.
So here’s the world’s simplest definition:
A Platform is a publication that you create.
It could be a print newsletter, a podcast, a video blog, an email newsletter, a hotsheet or a lot of other things.

Think of Oprah… her Platform was her TV show.
What were the products of that TV show?
The building of trust and respect with an enormous group of people. She turned that into billions.
The Platform is the vehicle you use to demonstrate your value to a specific group of people, consistently, over time. Some of those people will become great clients. In fact, I have yet to find a higher quality client than the one you “grow” yourself via your platform.
If you think “referrals” are a good source of clients, then wait until you experience the client that comes from your own Platform. They show up 100% SOLD on you.
And guess what that does to your fees?
When you are in the business of trust, respect, authority and being a professional, you can never have too many people that trust you.
But you can’t buy trust just like you can’t buy love. If you could just buy your way in to a client’s life and purchase some trust with a few buckeroos, everyone would be doing it.
