Beating the Drum

This morning I woke up and drove over to a friend’s house to pick-up a gift he offered to give to me.

Now my friend is no ordinary being. His name is Joseph White Wolf. You can read about him here.

You can receive his weekly video message here.

He grew up in northern Canada and spent most of his early life with his father, a fur trapper, living deep in the wilderness.

His connection to the natural world, seen and unseen, is profound.

And people come from all over the world to visit him for this very reason. Because he helps them reconnect with themselves at a deep level.

At 6 o’clock this morning, I drove onto the property to receive this “gift…” a simple ceremony and an energy clearing. Drums, sage, feathers, stories and connection. Afterwards, I left with much gratitude as the sun came up over the mountains.

There’s something you notice about people who are actually living in alignment with their true selves.

Are they nicer? Maybe, maybe not.

Are they richer? Ha.

Are they better looking? Perhaps.

Those are just surface level things. I’m talking about something you notice that’s much deeper.

There are actually two things:

First is a vibration that you feel when you’re in their presence. It’s a resonance really. Like a crystal that’s producing a pure tone.

The second thing is that there seems to be a natural emphasis placed on GIVING for no obvious reason with these folks.

In my experience, living in alignment with the real YOU is the path to fulfillment. And what happens when one is “fulfilled?” You realize the only rational thing to do with that fulfillment is to take it to where it does not yet exist.

So why don’t more people listen for the beat of their own drum and start walking in the direction of that sound?

That’s about the only question for which I don’t think there exists a “good” answer.
