A Tale of the Two Ways to Sell

I think there are really two ways to sell.

You can either take a bunch of people and try to convince them to buy what you have… or… you can take what you have, and find people who already want that.

Guess which is easier? Guess which gets you better clients?

It’s a question of where you choose to put your effort. Do you put your effort into convincing less than ideal buyers to buy? Or do you put your effort into finding perfect buyers for what you offer?

These are really two completely different frames of mind. They are two different ways of carrying yourself at a networking event. These two approaches are actually two different worlds!

You probably don’t have to try too hard to guess which world I prefer. I’m not saying that choice is right for everyone, but I DO think you need to make a choice and stick to it.

These two worlds operate by different rules. It’s important you know which world you’re operating in so you can build your strategy and systems accordingly.

Let’s take the Platform. How would that change depending on which world you operate in?

Well, in the world where you’re convincing, your platform would contribute to selling YOU.

In the world where you’re looking for people who already want what you have, your platform would contribute to DISQUALIFYING everyone who doesn’t belong.

See how that’s different?

Which world do you want to operate in?

Make a choice and start taking action.
