Emotions and selling don’t usually go together too well.
At least they never did for me!
I think I must have been born with a little LED readout on my head that springs to life whenever I “want” something. This LED readout is powered by emotion. So the more I had, the brighter it got.
The screen said things like, “He wants you to BUY this!”
I didn’t know about this screen, but clearly, prospects could read it.
Eventually, I gave up “selling” because I think it’s slimy. Aiming my life force at manipulating people to give me money is not where I want to be. I WAS there, mind you. Heck, I even studied for YEARS to get good at it.
And then I realized how empty it is. In a blink, it became terrible. Isn’t there more to life than this? Of course there is, if you look.
So these days, “selling” isn’t even the right word for what I do or recommend anyone do. Because selling would imply I aim at a particular intended result.
This is a great way to be miserable almost all the time.
What I WANT is to help people. When I help them ENOUGH, good things come back to me. I don’t worry about that part, because that would be like speaking with the accent on the wrong syl-LAB-ble.
But since I have no idea if that means I should help YOU or not, I developed a process to help figure that out. You could think of this as a “system.”
I have no preconceived notions about where you’ll end up in the system. Maybe you won’t even go past step 1. It doesn’t matter. That simply means you weren’t here for me to help you. I’m OK with that.
When you build a SYSTEM, you get free of the emotion that clouds the waters. You develop a healthy detachment.
There IS emotion present, it’s just not emotion that’s hooked into a particular RESULT.
That’s the key.
Unhook your emotional connection to the result that you’ve trained your ego to have and you are awarded with instant power.
Try it.
