I’m in Denver for a few days and about to head out to a meeting, but first, I’d like to offer a “cure” for dealing with disappearing prospects.
There’s nothing more annoying than dealing with a prospective client only to have them disappear off into the wild blue yonder.
Whenever that happens (and it WILL happen), you basically have two choices:
1. You can run after them.
2. You can run after something else.
I recommend option #2. That “something else” is another goal of yours. In other words, the second the prospect disappears, you forget about it.
This is why you create some sort of PLATFORM or follow-up system that you can add your prospect to.
Whether they resurface next week, next month or next year doesn’t really matter.
YOU sidestepping the potential trap of getting emotionally involved in the disappearing act DOES matter.
Life is short. Work with people who want to work with you. Don’t chase those who don’t.
