Having lived in the desert for so long, I forgot just how rich with resources certain parts of the world are.
Now that we’ve moved east, it’s amazing…
A few weeks ago, we bought a quarter of a cow. 150 pounds of grass fed beef sit in our freezer speaking to me every time I walk by.
Steaks and roasts and enough ground beef to feed an army is just sitting right there waiting for my favorite steak diane recipe.
Now that I’ve finally figured out how to cook a grass fed steak (sear for 3-4 minutes per side then 20 minutes in the oven at 200F), there’s no going back.
It’s a beautiful thing. And I’m extremely grateful we have access to it.
Same thing with raw milk.
Now around here, some bureaucrat somewhere decided that raw milk is evil and it shouldn’t be sold. Like going out and driving in your car, it could KILL you. 🙂
I prefer to make my own decisions and so I go out and get it anyway. A lot of it. Every week.
So do a lot of people.
The market (me) wants it and they will find a way to get it. And this is true for just about everything. The market will search out what it wants.
Are your clients searching you out?
If not, sit down and ask yourself if you’ve given the world a clear REASON to search you out?
Or have you simply spent time trying to “market yourself?”
Those are two very different things.
Your ability to design websites or fix teeth is not a reason for the world to search you out.
What IS the reason?
If you don’t know, how can you expect the world to know?
This is the important work to be doing.
