Today is the 7 Secrets of the Platform Spiral teleclass. It will be valuable for both beginners AND advanced people. The recording will be available soon for $97, so registering before 11AM PST will save you money.

Here are a few sentences from an email I got the other day from a Daily Journal subscriber:

“13 days. In less than a fortnight, I’m all in. That’s how long it took for me to enter your Platform Spiral and become a customer.”

Now I know I go on and on about how the platform approach to client attraction is like riding the slow boat to China, but that doesn’t mean it always is. It just means that’s the trend: slower than faster.

But when emails come in like this, it gives me another clue that this is a path almost anyone with something to say can walk.

I can’t say that we’re all destined for greatness (as if that’s even a real thing with an objective definition), but I CAN say we’re all here to be the best version of US we’re capable of being.

And if I had to pick ONE way of doing that, I know what I’d pick.

I wouldn’t pick “working on yourself.” That leads to a pretty self-centered path through life if that’s all you do.

My path would be figuring out how to best serve others more effectively today than yesterday.

If you direct your gaze at serving others, you’ll end up upgrading yourself in the process. It is just a natural byproduct of the work.

The media platform is one way to serve others. You give your best effort, on a regular basis, to help a specific group of people solve problems.”

Then you lay breadcrumbs back to other fuller solutions in the form of your products and services.

Then you watch the magic.

You can explain every little detail about how this system works, but it doesn’t change the miracle you experience when it happens.

When I started in business, I really thought I had to choose between what my gut told me was right and true to do and what “worked” in the world of commerce.

I bounced from one extreme to the other for years. I didn’t know at the time, you could bring both worlds together.

That’s not much of what you see out there at the moment, and that’s just what it is. But you don’t have to act like that. You don’t have to be obsessed with “getting yours” at the expense of someone else.

You can align what your heart says and benefit in material ways at the same time.

When you walk THIS path, you end up sticking out like a beacon. People come your way and immediately know there is something different, unique and valuable about you.

You can read business books about how to manipulate your way to a result like that, but I stumbled on my own way:

You just show up, consistently, and be yourself, in an effort to serve others, without want.

And then you wake up and do it again tomorrow.
