A few months ago, a man named Steve called me on the phone with a unique question.

Long story short, he basically said, “I am calling to see how I could work with you…” Now I have to tell you, it’s nice to get inquiries like this.

In fact, much of what I talk about everyday is centered on generating client inquiries just like this one.

You don’t want the prospects calling saying, “What can you do for me today?”, you want them calling asking, “How can we work with you?”

When you’re doing one-on-one client work, that’s a fine question to get because it opens up a discussion.

But when you are selling services that are more designed as “self-service” type of offerings, getting inquiries like this is an enormous clue.

It’s a clue that your prospects are CONFUSED!

Now I have to tell you, Steve is a go getter. He’s what I refer to as a “winner.” The definition of a winner in my book is someone who just goes and does it. For lack of a better word, they are self-directed and self-powered. They are not looking for anyone to save them or deliver them to the Promised Land. They will do the work themselves thank you very much.

That’s why Steve picked up the phone and reached out to me. But he’s one in a million. The more common response from your prospects will be to simply do nothing.

But Steve gave me an enormous gift. He raised his hand and basically said, “I want to give you money because I think I’ll get value in return, but I’m unclear about the best way to do that.”

As you can see at the top of the page below, things are working out well for Steve, as he mentions.

I imagine there are people just like THIS hanging around at the edges of your business. They know they want to take a step towards you, but you haven’t made the way forward clear enough to them.

The goal is CLARITY.

There are plenty of ways to create that, limited only by your creativity.
