What To Do With Good Ideas

Some people will tell you that success is “all about the execution.” But those are usually the people whose strength is execution, not coming up with great ideas.

I’m much more interested in great ideas. Those have momentum built in so that the “execution” doesn’t require rolling a huge boulder up a hill.

If you just THINK longer, you can usually improve your idea exponentially, rather than “execute” yourself through 30 iterations that just weren’t really good enough.

But good ideas do need something else if you’re going to take them out as something that will serve the world.

They need a bit of focusing. Not because the idea isn’t great, but because it needs to FIT somewhere in the minds and hearts of humanity.

Especially if you want to find that sweet spot where your good idea ALSO rewards you with material success.

Take the great idea and figure out how to position/package it as a tangible solution to a particular type of person’s problem.

That’s it.

It’s a very simple concept, but one that so many people with good ideas seem to overlook.

Who are you choosing to serve with this great idea and HOW does it make their life better in a way they want their life to improve?

How do you know if you’re “doing it right?” You’re well on your way when someone looks at what you have and is able to say, “That’s for me!”
