The Humble Soup Diet

When it comes down to it, you’re either great at what you do or you aren’t.

If you aren’t, then you can choose whether or not to do the work required to become great.

But if you’re already great at what you do, then the next logical step is to get the word out. That way, people whose lives you can benefit will actually know you exist and that you can help them.

But that’s when a lot of us run into a little problem…

The problem is that little voice that’s in your head. It usually starts talking to you, in a very uneasy tone, about what other people might think of your “boldness.”

“Who are you to do this? What makes you so great? You’re not special. One of these days, they’re going to find out the truth!”

What a blessing this little voice is! Why? Because it tells you exactly where you should go. And where you should go is right through the point it says you shouldn’t go.

Look around at the world. The world needs greatness. It needs people to show-up and OWN the fact that they can offer solutions to problems.

It needs people who are willing to tell people about what they can do.

Now sheep are wired to pull other sheep back into line. If one tries to climb out over the fence, the others will put it back.

But who needs another sheep when we all excel at doing this to ourselves!

If you believe that fully stepping into your greatness diminishes someone else in any way, then you believe a lie.

It’s a little bit like thinking you could truly “offend” someone else. The fact of that matter is that, in order to “offend” me, you’d need my permission. In other words, I’d have to be complicit in the act. If I refuse to be, you got nuttin’!

I come in contact with too many amazing talents who deal with this issue.

They know that what they do is off the charts amazing. I know they know it because I can see it in their eyes or hear it in their voice. And the proof they’ve created is pretty overwhelming that it is in fact the truth.

And still, they just can’t be OK with it.

If you’re in this situation, you have a choice:

You can either get over it for the sake of the world, or you can be a prisoner in a prison of your own making, forever.

Just know that YOU are the prison warden and the prisoner, all at the same time. And you have the keys to freedom any time you want to use them.

There are people on the “outside” who are waiting for you to show up and make your value known to them.

If you can’t do it for YOU, how about doing it for THEM? Eventually you’ll create enough proof of your greatness that you might even allow yourself to believe it 🙂

But eating a steady diet of humble soup makes the whole world suffer.
