Stop Trying to Get Clients

Today is the day to stop trying to get clients.

It’s not fun, it’s generally unproductive, and you have far better things to do with your time.

Like what?

Like investing your time, energy and money in something you actually control.

What do you control?

What you do with your time.

The fact is, you don’t control whether a client works with you or not. As much as we might like not to believe that, I think it’s 100% true.

So instead of “trying to get clients,” spend your time doing things that can generate leads.

But focus on things you control.

What is under your control?

How many blog posts you create…

How many emails you send…

How many books you write…

How many podcasts you record…

How many teleseminars you do…

How many newsletters you mail…

You might think generating leads and getting clients are kind of the same things, but they’re not.

When you’re “trying to get clients,” you invest energy in trying to spot the single needle in a haystack. Good luck with that.

When you simply focus on doing the activities that generate leads, then you can sit back and let the clients make themselves known to you.

Focus on what you control. Spend your time doing that.

It’s all about how you use your time.

In this month’s Rainmaker Letter, I interview one of my clients, fitness expert Bedros Keuilian. In that interview, he reveals his powerful strategy for using his time better than 99% of the people on the planet.

And his strategy isn’t about “planning your day.” It’s something more powerful.
