Instant trust doesn’t happen.

You can’t walk up to a stranger and have them trust you with their life in the first 10 minutes of the relationship.

Same thing with a client. They won’t trust you the first time they meet you or hear about you. Why should they? Because you tell them they can trust you? Not gonna cut it.

So you really have a very simple decision to make: are you interested in BUILDING trust, slowly, over time, or not?

If you’re not, then this is the wrong email for you to be reading. Because I have little advice for someone who’s not interested in building trust.

In an age where everyone has access to the tools and the marketing know-how and the latest/greatest technology, how is a poor prospect supposed to make any choices?

He’s going to choose to work with the person he trusts. Because that’s the only choice that creates the “safe” feeling inside him.

We live in a world where most people walk around in a functional state of 24/7 terror. People are scared… of just about EVERYTHING. A lot of people pay a lot of money to make sure it stays that way, but that’s a topic for another day.

In a world of fear like that, trust sticks out like a free self-service water station in the middle of the desert.

But the longer you put off starting to build trust with your prospects and clients, the harder it will get. The pressure builds as you do nothing, until you wake up one day and realize, “Wow, I really need to make something happen TODAY!”

You don’t MAKE trust happen, you create the space for trust to happen on its own. Trust is the reward you reap for investment of time, energy and caring.

How do you do that?

Well that’s a large part of what I talk about each and every day. It’s not hard to understand. In fact, I’m sure you “get it.” The real question, though, is will you DO it?

What do I offer that can help you build trust as YOUR competitive advantage? I’ll list them in the order I think they do the most good:

  1. Rainmaker Letter. This is how to “get in the door.” I make this newsletter a required “first-step” because if you’re going to do this for real, you need time. And with the Rainmaker Letter, I get 12 BIG opportunities to show up for you over the next year to motivate, inspire and empower.
  2. How to Dig For Gold and Find It – One of the most effective ways to build trust with someone is to show that you truly understand them. This helps you develop the skill to do that.
  3. The Incomparable Expert Transformation™ – You need to stand for something unique and inherently MORE valuable than your competition. Most people already have this “thing” built into them. The Incomparable Expert Transformation™ helps you see what that “thing” is, maybe for the first time ever.
  4. How to Build a Client Getting Website – This is the first real “building step” where the rubber begins to meet the road. This is a strategic look at how you put a site together to get leads.

There are others, but these give you an excellent foundation. From there, it’s about doing the work. That, as it turns out, is where a lot of people stumble.

But once you see it working… once you see prospects TRUSTING you… and writing to you like they KNOW you. Well, you’ll never go back.

Don’t trust me on that, prove it to yourself.
