I was on the phone with a professional service provider yesterday and I mentioned something that I want to highlight for you.

Despite how we humans try to complicate everything we do, the longer I go in business the more I realize just how simple it is.

I mean that the path to success is not complicated. It’s simple. It’s straightforward.

Here’s the recipe:

People must know you exist.

People must want what you have.

People must be given an opportunity to GET what they want from you.

For some reason, we humans tend to find simple things like this boring. And so we ignore them and go in search of something more exciting. Like Facebook®. Or Adwords, or blogging, or (for goodness’ sake) Twitter.

And that’s where the trouble begins.

Two questions for you:

Are you talking to more people today than you were yesterday? Do more people know who you are, what you do and why they should care today than knew yesterday?

If your business isn’t where you want it and you can’t answer YES to the 2 questions I just asked, then your solution is right in front of you.

Go to work.

P.S. The open enrollment period for private mentoring extends through this Friday, November 2 at midnight EST. After that, it closes until January 1. Program is by application only. You can get the details here.
