There’s selling, then there’s sorting.
In my business of copywriting and consulting, I have no interest in SELLING. Selling, to me, means I might end up working with folks other than the ones who would come on their own steam.
The reason would be because I SOLD them. That’s a skill. It’s a science. It’s an art. You can learn it. You can do very well for yourself if you do.
But for me, I don’t like it. Because I don’t want to work with anyone I’ve had to SELL to get inside my universe.
I don’t care if YOU want to sell, that’s up to you. But some businesses are such that it doesn’t lend itself to good things.
So the point is to be clear about whether or not you’re in the type of business where working with someone you had to “sell” is worth it for you.
From my perspective, the more people are buying YOU directly, the less you want to have to sell.
That’s what your platform and other systems are for.
That way, you don’t do the selling. You simply provide the raw material for others to sell themselves.
